She transferred to San Jose State University to study Vocal Performance and Music Education under Layna Chianakas and Dr. Jeffrey Benson. During her time at SJSU, she won the San Jose Women's Club Vocal Competition.
She has taught group and private piano and voice lessons in local private music studios and community centers for the past 14 years.  She has worked as church choir director at a local church. After becoming the worship director, church became her segue into working with contemporary styles.

Following her time at school, she gained experience in opera, musical theater, original plays, Chicano theater, immersive theater, and concert work. She has also sung cumbia, bachata, and salsa with local bands. Lately, she's been performing her own music along with familiar Latin pop/rock tunes, inspired by her Latin American heritage and passion for folk music.
